Willie C. McBride
President and Founder
ABOUT THE PRESIDENT
Since 1984, Willie has been an active member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 488. Through the IBEW, he was employed by the City of Bridgeport for 15 years as a licensed electrician. During his time, he served the Civil Service Commission as an Employee Representative, Chairperson for the Trades and Custodial Safety Committee, as well as the Chief Union Steward for the Building Trades, and the Labor-Management Steering Committee. Willie retired in 2014. His retirement was motivated by his vision to utilize his experience to fulfill a lifelong goal of founding a family business. In 2014, he signed on as a Contractor with the IBEW Local 488 as a company of two - WC McBride Electrical Contractors, LLC. Since this time, our company has grown significantly, proudly providing expert electrical work throughout Connecticut while simultaneously focusing on supporting the local community through hiring practices aimed at hiring and improving the lives of the underrepresented.
ABOUT THE VICE-PRESIDENT
Lauren McBride is the Vice-President of W.C. McBride Electrical Contractors, a family-owned minority business. Lauren has served her community through her involvement with Thrive Emerging Leaders, Bridgeport Regional Business Council, National Coalition of 100 Black Women, and Bridgeport Caribe Youth Leaders and continues to serve through her role in WC McBride Electrical Contactors community involvements. Lauren enhances her leadership capabilities through her past experiences as a manager for three different Edible Arrangement locations, including their Corporate headquarters, completing numerous Leadership courses such as Diverse Supplier Development Academy and Leadership Greater Bridgeport Class 29. Lauren is a proud IBEW Local 488 member and continues to learn, lead, promote and practice our company's core values.
